The summer of 2025 at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre was nothing short of spectacular—and what a joy it was to host discerning music lovers at Seaside Hideaway, ideally located just minutes from the iconic lakeside venue. With a dazzling lineup of artists, magical seaside nights, and unforgettable energy, let’s reflect on a season that truly rocked the coast.
Highlights from the Stage
Scarborough’s venue—nestled amidst Northstead Manor Gardens—loaded up its 8,000-capacity amphitheatre with some of the biggest names on music’s current circuit. It all kicked off in June with The Corrs, joined on stage by Natalie Imbruglia. Their shimmering blend of pop and Celtic rhythms was followed by Gary Barlow, who brought his classic charisma and hits like “Rule the World” to the stage. The energy kept building with Shed Seven, who lit up the venue with Britpop anthems like “Going For Gold”—joined by special guests Jake Bugg and The Cast. Pendulum and Basement Jaxx followed soon after, delivering electric sets that soared through the night. Alternative fans were treated to heartfelt ballads from Snow Patrol, and retro-pop legends Human League brought 80s synth magic to life, performing timeless tracks like “Don’t You Want Me.” Seaside Hideaway Hotel+1
July brought the emotive pop/rock of The Script, featuring an unforgettable night with guest Tom Walker, followed by the reggae rhythms of UB40 featuring Ali Campbell. Indie-pop charm was up next with Blossoms, then the soul-soaked vocals of Rag’n’Bone Man, all before McFly set the stage alight with their pop-rock energy. TS5 with Craig David brought R&B smoothness and dancefloor vibes, followed by metal titans Judas Priest, and then the classy rock of Texas closed July in style. London Theatre News+1
In early August, Faithless delivered dancefloor euphoria with guest Orbital. And then… the grand finale.
Will Smith: Closing the Curtains in Style
On 24 August, Scarborough witnessed its most sensational finale yet. Will Smith—clad in a vibrant Philly jacket and bringing nostalgic rap anthems—closed the season with energy, humour, and heartfelt connection. From “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It” to emotional reflections on personal challenges (including “the slap”), his set was an inspiring mix of retro hits and wisdom, earning glowing four-star reviews.
