Live Music at Seaside Hideaway Hotel
As well as enjoying Scarborough’s bigger venues and seasonal events, guests can sometimes enjoy something a little more personal here at Seaside Hideaway Hotel too.
On Sunday 24th May 2026, we are delighted to welcome Lee Jefferey for a relaxed afternoon of live acoustic music from 5pm to 7pm, featuring some of the best-loved 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s covers.
This is a lovely chance to enjoy live music in a more intimate setting, whether you are staying with us for the weekend or are local to Scarborough and fancy calling in for a drink. Free entry, with walk-ins welcome subject to available space.

Scarborough Open Air Theatre
Scarborough Open Air Theatre is one of the town’s biggest draws, bringing major live music acts to the North Bay each year. Its setting makes it especially popular in the warmer months, and it continues to be one of the best-known outdoor concert venues in the country. The venue’s 2026 programme is already listing major artists, which shows just how strong its appeal remains.
For Seaside Hideaway guests, this is one of the easiest event venues to enjoy during a stay. We are very close by, so many guests choose to make a concert part of a longer break rather than trying to travel in and out on the same night. It makes the whole experience much more relaxed, especially when the area is busy.
If you are visiting for a show, staying in North Bay means you can enjoy the atmosphere before and after the event, with the beach, Peasholm Park and other attractions all nearby.

Scarborough Cricket Festival
The Scarborough Cricket Festival is one of the town’s most established sporting traditions and remains a real highlight of the summer. Cricket at North Marine Road has long been part of Scarborough’s identity, and Yorkshire’s 2026 fixture announcements confirm that Scarborough will once again host championship cricket during the season.
For many visitors, the Cricket Festival is about much more than the match itself. It is about the atmosphere, the routine of returning each year, and the chance to enjoy a few days by the sea with cricket at the heart of the trip. That slower, more traditional pace fits beautifully with a stay in North Bay.
Seaside Hideaway Hotel is well placed for guests who want to combine cricket with comfortable accommodation, good food and time to enjoy Scarborough beyond the ground itself.
Scarborough Spa Theatre and Spa events
Scarborough Spa is one of the town’s best-known entertainment venues, hosting live shows, concerts, events and conferences throughout the year. Its seafront location on South Bay gives it a very different feel from North Bay, so it is a lovely option if you want to experience another side of Scarborough during your stay.
A visit to the Spa can work particularly well for guests who are planning a weekend break or a midweek escape with an evening out included. It gives you the chance to enjoy the energy of South Bay and then return to the calmer feel of North Bay afterwards.
If you like the idea of building your stay around a performance, concert or special event, Scarborough Spa is always worth checking before you book.

Stephen Joseph Theatre
The Stephen Joseph Theatre is one of Scarborough’s cultural highlights, known for its varied programme of drama, comedy, film, music and other live events. The theatre is based in an Art Deco building opposite Scarborough Railway Station and continues to offer a wide range of performances throughout the year.
It is a great choice for guests looking for a more year-round theatre break, especially outside the busiest holiday periods. A visit to the SJT can be a lovely way to add something different to your time in Scarborough, whether you are already familiar with the venue or planning your first visit.
For guests staying at Seaside Hideaway Hotel, it is another easy option for an evening out, giving you the best of both worlds: quiet North Bay accommodation and access to one of the town’s best-loved theatres.

Make a stay of it
One of the biggest advantages of booking accommodation for an event in Scarborough is that you can turn it into more than just a one-night visit. A concert, match or theatre trip can easily become part of a longer break, giving you time to enjoy the coastline, the parks, the seafront and the independent character of the town as well.
For many guests, that is especially appealing in the quieter months, when Scarborough feels more relaxed but there is still plenty going on. A stay built around an event can be a lovely excuse to slow down, enjoy a change of scene and make the most of the Yorkshire coast.
That can be especially true when there is something happening here at the hotel too, such as our live acoustic afternoon with Lee Jefferey on 24th May, giving guests the chance to enjoy music as part of a more relaxed seaside break. See full event details here.
